Strategic Session “The Role of Museums in the Development and Promotion of the Arctic Regions”

In the context of the globalization processes of modern Russia, it is still important to strengthen the regional component. Museums that master innovative forms and types of core activities become active subjects of regional cultural policy, take an active part in diagnosing the tourism potential of the territories, develop an attractive tourism product/brand of a particular region, communicate regional identity, successfully work in the field of socio-cultural design and educational activities. The role of museums in shaping and transmitting a positive image of the Arctic and the North of Russia, as well as in solving the problems of creating educational tourist routes on the topics of ethnography, art crafts, cultural and historical values is significant.
