Discussion of the problems and prospective trends for the Arctic regional development, improving the quality of life in the north, transport accessibility and the implementation of practically significant and social projects being incorporated in the Arctic from the standpoint of taking into account the interests of the indigenous peoples of the North of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Another aim is to improve the quality of life in places of traditional economic activity, we suggest to discuss the following proposals:
- construction of compact residential buildings for reindeer herders governed by state programs;
- widespread introduction of new technologies for use in traditional industries and solving social problems in the Arctic: nuclear mini-power plants, solar panels, wind-powered generators, micro-chips, satellite collars, etc.;
- equipping fishery bases, bottom-hole points with refrigeration equipment, all-terrain vehicles, processing shops;
- discussion and consideration of support mechanisms, tax incentives for the development of small and medium-sized businesses and promotion of self-employment based on traditional economic sectors;
- development of ecological and extreme tourism;
- development of programs for concessional lending to reindeer farms
