The Cold Lands Seminar \"Japanese-Russian Cooperation in the North\" is held jointly\nby the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the HaRP Secretariat for representatives of\nJapanese and Russian universities, companies and government agencies. This is a\nmeeting of the participants of the specialized section, whose activities are related to\nthe North, and their external partners among private companies and local\nauthorities. The seminar will consist of an introductory plenary session and a\ndiscussion in sections. The introductory session will include presentations on the\nlatest developments in Japanese-Russian cooperation in the North and Arcticrelated issues, including the launch of the ArCS-2 (Arctic Challenge for Sustainability)\nproject. Discussion in 4 sections will allow Japanese and Russian scientists and their\npartners to share information and proposals on promising joint projects for 2020 and\nbeyond, discuss topics and formats for future cooperation. In a wrap-up session, the\nModerators of each section will summarize the discussion, and the participants will\nhave the opportunity to discuss them in order to identify prospective areas of\ncooperation, frameworks and steps for future joint projects<\/span><\/p>\n
