He was born on May 10, 1936 in the Atbasar district of the Akmola region of the Kazakh SSR. In 1958 he graduated from Moscow State University. From 1958 to 1995 he worked at the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Kazakh SSR (now the Institute of Geological Sciences named after K.I. Satpayev). Abdrakhmanov created the formation-petrochemical theory of polycyclic granitoids, classified granites of 12 petrochemical species. He discovered horizontal and vertical geochemical zones. Fundamental theoretical research in the field of geology and metallogeny is devoted to the forecast and development of deposits in Northern Balkhash, in Kendyktas – Shu-Ile district.
