Глава Якутии Айсен Николаев приветствует участников Северного форума по устойчивому развитию, на который съехались представители 11 стран мира. С 24 по 28 сентября мероприятие станет площадкой для обсуждения проблем Арктики и поиска решений по ее комплексному развитию.

Уважаемые участники Северного форума по устойчивому развитию!

I welcome you to the hospitable northern region of Russia - the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). These days, the capital of the republic, the city of Yakutsk, receives representatives of many Arctic regions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries, scientists and world-class experts in order to comprehensively and in detail discuss all aspects of sustainable development of the Arctic.

The preservation and development of the Arctic is largely due to its fragile ecology, global climate change on the planet. The Arctic question in terms of its scale and significance goes beyond the circumpolar world. Today, more and more foreign countries that are geographically located far from the North are showing state interest in the Arctic.

We are glad to welcome new participants of the forum - representatives of the countries of North-East Asia. By its territorial location Yakutia unites two macro-regions - the Arctic and Asia. We accept this unique geopolitical role with full responsibility and a conscious understanding of the scale of the work ahead.

Я уверен, что Северный форум по устойчивому развитию в Якутске станет площадкой для выработки конкретных мер по решению общемировых проблем, связанных с развитием Арктики.
