NSDF is a permanent, international, annual expert platform for discussing problems and prospects of the sustainable development in the North and the Arctic. The main topic of the 4th Forum is Arctic Energy: New Challenges - New Solutions and Technologies. The experts will discuss the following issues at the sites of the NSDF-2022: Which types of energy will be in demand in the Arctic? How to ensure and improve the resilience of the Arctic? How to save people's energy, attract young people to the Arctic? What partnerships are possible during global changes in the world order for a progressive movement towards sustainable development goals in the Arctic?
One of the key points related to energy storage in the Arctic is to ensure effective interaction between young people, transfer experience from previous generations and build interdisciplinary networks to generate new technological and socio-economic solutions within to solve topical issues of the Arctic.
The need to synchronize the creative potential of young researchers is associated with the vastness and specificity of the Arctic region, growth of interest both at the national and international levels. The objective of the 1st Forum of Young Researchers of the Arctic is to create a starting point for the effective integration of active youth in solving problems related to the sustainable development of the North and the Arctic.
The participants of the Forum will attend business and cultural programmes of the NSDF-2022; get acquainted with the leading enterprises and organizations of Yakutsk; have a business game with the topical cases from our partners that they will need to solve. The Forum participants will present the results of their project work to the expert commission. The project work can be interdisciplinary. The best proposals or solutions will be rewarded with a cash prize in the amount of 150 thousand RUB. Eligibility for participation in the Forum: students and graduate students; young scientists and researchers, as well as active youth up to 35 years old, who interested in the Arctic issues. For nonresident and foreign participants, a competition for a travel grant is announced. The grant will cover travel and accommodation expenses for full-time participation in the Forum and internship at the Autumn Arctic School which takes place from September 2 to October 14, 2022.

The participants of the “1st Young Arctic Researchers' Forum” will be provided with a visit to the business and culture program of the NSDF-2022; acquaintance with the leading enterprises and organizations of Yakutsk; business game with real cases from our partners; competition of project works on the Arctic theme. Project work can be interdisciplinary in nature.
