YOUTH ECO FORUM (DAY 2)
Youth Eco Forum is turning 20 in 2021.
The anniversary forum will take place in Berdigestyakh settlement of Gorny District of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) on September 29-October 6, 2021. It is proposed to arrange its participants’ involvement in the NSDF events and to provide the NSDF auspices.
Background: Youth Eco-Forum is convened every year, or every other year. It was designed to support a comprehensive and balanced environmental education for realizing a creative and leadership potential of young people in northern regions. Youth Eco Forum fosters a generation of youth actively involved in solving environmental problems, strengthens international relations through the exchange of experiences between unique northern regions, and provides young people with the tools to make positive change in their home region.
Goal of the Eco Forum:
Join the efforts of northern youth to preserve the North and the Arctic for future generations for the benefit of sustainable development.
Objectives:
- study the experience of interregional and international youth environmental organizations and associations in environmental activities;
- involve youth in environmental activities and actions to attract the authorities’ attention to the environmental issues;
The Eco Forum will focus on contributing to climate change prevention, raising environmental awareness, urban ecology, preservation of the Arctic and northern biodiversity, etc. The themes are updated for each Eco Forum.
