Roundtable “Arctic Community: Paths of the Past, Present and Future”

The goal of the Roundtable is to exchange scientific ideas and opinions, results of research on complex problems of Arctic society among the representatives of different scientific directions and schools in determining the current state of the Arctic society and identifying the main directions of future study of the Arctic region of Yakutia and Russia, based on the achievements of the past and the present, helping to open up new perspectives that should improve the well-being of indigenous people, achieve joint actions of authorities, large industrial business structures, and business community.

The roundtable will be held in a hybrid format (in person/online) with an overview of the current problems of the Arctic society:

  • Indigenous peoples of the North and their legal status in the context of the transformation of society: global and local context
  • Humanitarian security: an ethnolinguistic aspect in the modern Arctic
  • Problems and prospects for the integration of the small peoples of the North into the all-Russian socio-cultural space
  • Arctic vector of northern studies in Russia and Yakutia
  • Social well-being of the population of the multi-ethnic region: theoretical and practical aspects and results of the implementation of the scientific project in the context of a pandemic
  • Youth of the indigenous peoples of the North: identity and the future
  • Arctic society and the role of the media in the face of new challenges of globalization

  • Generalization of multidimensional experience of the work of modern researchers on the study
  • preservation and popularization of scientific heritage and their predecessors
  • the founders of sociological and north-scientific school in the large Arctic macro-region of Russia - Yakutia will identify the main indicators of the potential of the Arctic society to improve the quality of life
  • and this requires the activation of the state and society 
  • which in turn underlines the important role of science and its relation to practice
