Architecture of the Program of the 4th Northern Sustainable Development Forum

The 4th Northern Sustainable Development Forum will be held in Yakutsk on September 27-30, 2022 in a hybrid format. The main topic of the forum is " Energy of the Arctic: New Challenges - New Solutions and Technologies". The Forum is included in the Program of Russian Chairmanship in the Arctic Council.

34 events are planned to be held at the Forum venues in five main thematic blocks: "Arctic Energy: New Challenges - New Solutions and Technologies", "Human in the Arctic", "Global Partnership for Sustainable Development of the North and the Arctic", "Northern Forum: Regional Voice in the International Agenda”, “Northern Youth Forum”.

At the plenary session "Energy of the Arctic: New Challenges - New Solutions and Technologies" with the participation of leading experts in the energy field, it is planned to discuss the following issues: energy efficiency of resources, extraction and transportation of minerals in the Arctic, the Far East, low-carbon energy, problems of training personnel for work in high latitudes and attracting specialists to the Arctic.

In 2022, the NSDF is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of establishment of the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialistic Republic. It is planned to hold a number of events dedicated to the significant date, including the foresight session “100th anniversary of the Yakut ASSR: history and current state of federal relations”, the 7th All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Sustainable North: society, economy, ecology, politics”.

The Forum is expected to be attended by representatives of foreign countries: Iran, Belarus, Turkey, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Finland, USA, China, India.

The organizers of the Forum are International Organization of Northern Regions The Northern Forum, Government of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University.

The General Partner of the Forum is the Russian News Agency TASS.

The Special Partner of the Forum is the Interregional Partnership "Sustainable Development of the Arctic Zone of the Russia".
