NEFU made proposals on the work of the upcoming NPK of schools of the Northern Forum
Director of the Specialized Educational and Scientific Center of the North-Eastern Federal University of Milan Fedotova told the participants of the III Northern Sustainable Development Forum about the SSCC network in Russia and proposed to include a case tournament with tasks from the leading enterprises of the Northern Forum territories in the international research and development complex "Arctic - Territory of Cooperation" Arctic Council.

There are 10 SESCs in Russia, including five supported in 2021 under a grant program. The training of schoolchildren in grades 8-11 at the SSCC is carried out according to the author's programs developed at the departments and faculties of the country's universities. Classes at the SSCC are conducted by the faculty of universities and scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Students are given the opportunity to form their own individual trajectory of training, taking into account their scientific interests and abilities, said Milana Fedotova.

“NEFU is the largest scientific and educational center in the North-East of Russia. We solve the problem of accessibility of specialized specialized education and equalization of educational opportunities for highly motivated and capable schoolchildren from geographically remote populated areas of the republic. We are preparing lyceum students for the development of complex innovative educational programs of higher education in priority areas of science and technology for the innovative development of Russia, ”says the director of the NEFU SSCC.

Speaking with a proposal to include a case tournament in the NPK, Milana Fedotova emphasized that the topics of the cases should be devoted to the problems of development and solving the problems facing the territories of the Northern Forum and the Arctic Council. The work will be evaluated according to six criteria: a clear identification of the problem, tasks and stages of solution, the quality and depth of analytics, the goal in accordance with the SMART methodology, and others. Participants are awarded points for each decision. The teams with the maximum points will defend their decision in front of all participants and the expert council at the final defense.
