In the Arctic region, economic aspects are important for the Republic of Korea. In the short and medium term perspective, economic opportunities are expected to emerge in the areas of resource extraction, transport routes and offshore industrial development in the Arctic. Moreover, it is believed that Arctic can become a new stable source of resources for the Republic of Korea, which is a major importer of resources in the world. In this regard, there are certain prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Korea on the use of all the possibilities of the Northern Sea Route. As a result of an established dialog between the countries, the two countries will discuss joint cooperation on the creation of ice-class ships and cooperation in scientific research in the Arctic
