Legal policy of the Soviet State in the development of science in the Arctic

Dear colleagues!

Within the III Northern Sustainable Development Forum “Climate change and the permafrost response” the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University will hold the roundtable discussion “Legal policy of the Soviet State in the development of science in the Arctic” on September 30, 2021. A wide range of relevant scientific research development issues in the Arctic will be discussed.

You are welcome to participate in the roundtable and other activities of the Conference.

The roundtable was organized within the research carried out under the Russian Foundation for Basic Research grant No. 21-011-43026 "Legal policy of the Soviet State in the development of science" The roundtable will be held at 11AM (Moscow time) on September 30, 2021. The ZOOM link of the roundtable discussion will be sent to you later.

Sample questions to be discussed:

- Elaboration and development of a regulatory framework for the research areas in the Arctic.

- Analysis of current and Soviet legislation on scientific research in the Arctic.

- Projects on the development of the Arctic during the Soviet period, their legal support and results.

- The influence of politics and legal ideology on scientific research in the Arctic in the USSR and at the present stage.

- Involvement of scientific organizations in the study of the Arctic and their interaction with the Soviet state.

- International cooperation in Arctic research and development.

Scientific works selected by the organizing committee of the conference will be published in periodicals indexed in scientometric databases (Web of Science or Scopus).

Scientific work criteria:
- have not been previously published;
- have scientific novelty;
- correspond to the format and themes of the Conference;
- present a theoretical and practical significance.
All works undergo a single-blind review procedure and check in the anti-plagiarism system.

Scientific works of participants with academic degrees and young scientists without academic degrees (undergraduates and postgraduates) are accepted for publication. Students' works will not be accepted for publication.
